Dec 22, 2020· ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI has announced that its Obuasi Redevelopment Project, which sits atop the 31-million-ounce Obuasi Mineral Resource, remains on budget and on track to ramp up to a steady-state mining rate of 4,000 tonnes a day. The company said the mine was expected to reach its full production rate in the second half of 2021.
The Obuasi redevelopment project was officially launched in January 2019 after securing approval from the Government of Ghana in June 2018, while the first gold from the redevelopment project was poured in December 2019. The Obuasi gold mine redevelopment project is being implemented in two phases with an estimated investment of £423m ($545m).
